Just reading on the above posts, when I apply to UNSW med as a non-standard around September, I will not have completed 1FTE (8 units), but I will have completed them at around December. Will this make a difference to my application or does it not matter because offers come out after I have completed 1FTE? tia

I think it should be fine as long as the results come by mid-December (when ATAR comes out) because I assume this is when UNSW usually sends out interview invites.

oh, Watch out for that; you might have to see if your uni can send through your final semester results early or something because UNSW interview offers are based off of a combo of both atar and UCAT

yeah, nah that is good; the interviews for unsw are released after atar which is mid December so you are fine, plenty of time, I am also in the same boat.

Hopefully it should be fine though since they still have my ATAR and my sem 1 GPA to look at initially, and offers are made in early January, so they should be able to look at my full-year GPA by then.

NSW ATARs will be released on 17 Dec this year. But UAC already have them several days in advance to send to the schools for their interview selection calculations and UNSW can release invites on the same day. (btw USyd often sends invites to 99.95s before they know they got 99.95 !)

However I'm surprised that UNSW will start interviewing on the next day 18 Dec. How will they get the applicants to be ready for it ?!

Yep, 6.5+ and 91 or maybe 92%ile+ should be good enough for UQ Dent

Yeah UNSW releases their results on the 21 of December, which is after the interview offers have been released/during interview period. That probably means for the interview they'll only take into consideration my Sem1&2 GPA, and then for offers my Sem 1&2&3 GPA?

There is no definitive answer to this. Schools like WSU JMP don't take ATAR into calculation so even a top ATAR won't take the pressure off the interview. The other schools count ATAR typically 33% to 40% of your final marks. Some rural applicants have been successful with 93-94 yet a 99 doesn't guarantee it. IOW a higher ATAR gives you better chances on a gradual scale, there isn't a magic point where you can say the pressure is off.

Your chances of receiving an Adelaide interview will really just depend on the applicant pool there for this year. Last year the cutoff was much higher than 85th, but 85th UCAT (= 86th UMAT) has been enough in previous years, so you just never know. I’d say your chances of receiving an interview anywhere else are unlikely (you’ll possibly get a JMP interview if luck is on your side).

If you do land an Adelaide interview, you’ll really have to do well in it (with your relatively lower ATAR) to be in with a chance of a place offer.

And no, ATAR has no impact on Adelaide interview invites, so sitting the STAT test won’t impact your chances at an interview unfortunately.

You’ll almost certainly get a Flinders offer with a 99.95 ATAR. UES is a bonus scheme that improves applicant’s ATARs but you’ve already maxed yours out anyway and your UCAT should be high enough for an offer there. Additionally, you’ll get an interview at USYD (for provisional entry), UWA, Curtin and possibly Adelaide and JMP (if luck is on your side). You’ll also get a Griffith offer at any campus (provisional entry) and probably a UTAS offer (assuming they make offers to non-Tas students this year).

It's a conversion, I studied in an American High School. I think I received it since I emailed SATAC a couple of weeks ago asking how they'd convert my scores and they said they would let me know once they commence the assessment of my qualifications

Ah ok. That explains why you have it downpat so early. Australian ATARs aren't released until later this year.

Considering (1) Monash states publicly they give equal weightings 33/33/33 to the three components and (2) their place/interview ratio is like 1 in 2.4 (~210 offers to around 500 Vic interviewees), I'd say your near top ATAR & UCAT already place you in the top 210 without needing any marks from the interview.

Iow unless you will do a complete crap interview (which is unlikely with 8 separate MMI stations) 99% chance you will get at least a bonded offer, maybe 80% chance for unbonded. But remember not to take that attitude into the interview.
