UQ UQ Medicine: Provisional Entry Questions and Discussion

Sorry if this has been answered before, but does anyone know the ratio of interviewees to offers? :)

Edit: Program overview - Medicine Program - University of Queensland.

Says there's 280 offers (IDK about the ratio of provisional to graduate entry)

Edit 2: interviews (this UCAT round, IDK if theres one when ATAR comes out ) from 23 to 27 Nov

8 interviewees per run and around 4 rounds a day so around 160 people so far
I seem to remember reading/hearing around 500 provisional entry interviews for 140 provisional entry places (the remaining 140 places are graduate direct entry)

Hey guys, go to the QTAC and check if you have passed the interview or not!! Check under entry requirement and it says if you have satisfied the interview component. Mine says yes. I checked a couple of days ago it was "selected for interview, outcome not yet determined". Now the status has changed!!

Oops commented wrong place, but for English, Literature, English and Literature Extension or English as an Additional Language (Units 3 and 4, C) it says no for satisfied. My ATAR only came out an hour ago, is that why?

But does the yes mean interview has finished and the outcome has been selected, not necessarily whether you've passed or not? Mine says yes too 😰

I thought it means that you have satisfied the interview component.

Should I call up anyone, cuz it says no for that, but for other unis, its says processing hasn't been completed, the part for interview is yes, but the part for "English, Literature, English and Literature Extension or English as an Additional Language (Units 3 and 4, C)" is no. I think it's because my atar is only out today, but why is it no, and not a processing statement, because I did in fact pass Literature.

Hey everyone,

Just got my ATAR and it was much better than what I was expecting.

Does anybody know if UQ will do a second interview round? Not great UCAT so missed out the first time.

Thanks :)

You should call QTAC and check

I think they have said they’ll do a second interview invite round after atars are released, although i’m not sure whether they will be using ATAR for selection for these.

Congrats on your ATAR, it’s definitely a good feeling to do better than expected 🥳

Same message here! Have had my interview and passed English.

Isn't the interview not on a pass/fail system but merely to rank us, to then combine with ATAR/UCAT and determine the overall rank of applicants? The yes may simply mean we've done the interview and have thus satisified that entry requirement, which doesn't necessarily mean anything in terms of offers

I don't know if "yes" means we did the interview or satisfied the interview component.
It means you have satisfied the attending-the-interview component. For UQ its score will now be combined with ATAR/UCAT in 50/25/25 proportions for the place-offer ranking.

I called QTAC and they said that the UQ had updated information but they are not allowed to give us any information. I don't know if "yes" means we did the interview or satisfied the interview component.
Aren't QTAC closed on Saturdays? Otherwise I'll give them a call about the English satisfactory thing
