According to one of the older forums your application is processed with the standard applicants and you will receive an offer once they've determined the lowest umat score in that pathway, if yours is above set threshold you will receive an offer probably in February some timeHey guys, thought I should finally join the forum. I applied last year as a yr12 interstate leaver, ATAR: 97.5 UMAT: 96% (S1 score was only 48) and was offered a place in the BMedRes pathway which offers a place in undergrad med after completing medical research. I took the place and reapplied this year, GPA: 6.5 (WAM: 80 something, not sure), and UMAT: 89% (65/52/62). I think my umat has let me down again this year as s2 doesnt make the 60 cutoff. The other thing is I used my Tasmanian address for my application as I moved there at the beginning of last year to do BMedRes. I have not yet received an offer, goodluck everyone!
Haven't heard anything do you have an email or contact number for utas and have you tried contacting them ?Did anyone hear from uTas today? Were another round of offers sent out?
(I obviously got nothing)
hey mbkt07, yeah they use to rank us all together, but according to adele holloway who runs the BMedRes pathway program, non-standards (including pathways) are now ranked completely separately to standards. could you link me the member that posted thatAccording to one of the older forums your application is processed with the standard applicants and you will receive an offer once they've determined the lowest umat score in that pathway, if yours is above set threshold you will receive an offer probably in February some time
it was mentioned in the 2015 utas offers thread I think. Have you called them? Didn't they said you should be getting one? That's so weird tho, hope you get it soon!Hey guys,
I'm a non-standard applicant currently studying at UTAS doing medical research (BMedRes). I just finished second year and have a WAM of >70% (GPA 6) over the last 2 and 3 semesters, and got in the 95th percentile for the UMAT (65, 65, 59). It seems strange that I haven't yet received an offer. Am I likely to get one, or should I start planning my third year?
Thanks
Is your GPA right on a distinction or below? I think they only consider non-standards on 70%+ (GPA 6+), but I would talk to them anyway, especially face to faceHey guys,

Yeah I've got more than 70% average, with a GPA of 6.11 (I think it was).Is your GPA right on a distinction or below? I think they only consider non-standards on 70%+ (GPA 6+), but I would talk to them anyway, especially face to face

I am told by people in admissions that GPA, or rather average percentage, is simply a hurdle. So someone with a UMAT of 95 and an average percentage mark of 71% would likely get an offer before someone with a UMAT of 90 with an average of 87%.Is anyone aware of how non-standard applicants are ranked?
Is GPA a hurdle and then applicants are ranked according to their UMAT scores, or does GPA have a particular weighting?
is it percentile or individual section marks that they look at ?I am told by people in admissions that GPA, or rather average percentage, is simply a hurdle. Thanks!
