JPM WSU/CSU JPM: Interview Invite Discussion

the 132 isn't including the rural applicants who have their interviews before us, as well as all the interstate applicants

Do you mean those rural applicants who preferred CSU? My rural friend got an interview (WSU preferred) and it was released along with all of the other non-rural and GWS invites? My friends interview dates are 23 - 27 Nov, is this earlier than the non-rural interviews?

WSU interview dates are a few days after CSU interview dates

I was booking a med interview spot for WSU this morning and noticed they only had 132 candidate spots for interview. On their site, it says they offer about 120 places in the course, and I'm confused cos does that not mean that being invited to interview pretty much means you have a very high chance of getting an offer? Especially considering many people decline their offers for other med schools too. I was under the assumption that they would be interviewing 2 to 4 times the amount of candidates as there were positions available.
I remember booking this morning and it said 32 sessions available for each of the time slots and from memory there was like 3-4 time slots each day (2.5hrs each) and 5 days so I think it works out to be up to 500 which makes sense

Ohh ok, my bad, I must not have read that correctly whoops. Thanks for clarifying!

Hi - When you say in your post that you were rejected by WSU - was this via email? I did not know that rejection emails had already been sent? LMG! A1 do you know any further?

As has been mentioned here multiple times, official rejection emails have not gone out and will not go out for a couple of weeks yet. The OP can (confidently) predict their rejection due to their formula score which is almost 100 below what is required.

I've done the maths with the more specific formula and lowland7 still comes out "on top" over the other GWS applicant in question that landed an interview. Mystery continues...
Okay so update: Finally got through to the medical admissions team and they confirmed that I really just did not meet the threshold for an interview and that there was no error in my processing or application.

So well yeah I suppose that settles it - perhaps the 700 GWS MSO member miswrote their score?

Either way, I suppose I'll just hold out for any top-up interviews.

From the WSU Invite Email:

"You'll receive a separate email to confirm your interview booking and provide you with further details on the interview process. In addition to this confirmation, please ensure you capture a screenshot of your booking screen and diarise all interview details for your record."

Has anyone received that separate email yet?

Thanks very much for letting us know. You must be very close to first in line for a top up invite!

Hey everyone. I got in touch with admissions, as I had not yet received any communications from WSU by COB yesterday. After a lot of time, I was advised that I didn't meet the threshold for interviews. They also said that rejections would be finalised in 2 weeks, which is later than the Wednesday date that they told people previously.
Best of luck to other applicants!!

Who knows ahah. I had been hopeful because I thought there was a possible error on their side given my results were above the lowest scores in this thread for rural applicants. I don't think they'd be able to provide me with an answer even if I asked 😬

Did you confirm that your application was assessed as a rural application?
Yes I confirmed.
The email they sent me is as follows:

Good Morning

I wish to confirm you are being assessed as a rural applicant, however you have not met the threshold for interview at this time. Please be advised that the threshold is not determined by one book or the overall score alone, they are individually weighted.

We are advising applicants to expect an outcome of their application in the next coming two weeks, as there may be an instance we do second round interviews.

We appreciate your patience
