well that's one way to shoot yourself in the foot. I suspect nothing can be done about this. Also because your GPA is 0 i think that may eliminate you from applying for medicine because you need to PASS all your year 1 courses

If 106 is the same as it was last year then ~60% of the grade is from test 1 and the labs. If his average was somehow incredibly high in these two, it just might be enough to scratch a C+

while u guys were sitting 106, i was in bed because im a retard
looks like im gonna get a GPA equivalent of 0 for 106...

Definintely email the course coordinator right away. The university has a number of processes to deal with this situation & I know several people who have been awared an aegrotat grade in the exact same situation. Make contact today!

Does anyone have any important info from the medsci lab tut? I forgot it was on :( but it seems that she gave out good tips for muscle and repro

Hey yeah I didn't go to it either but my friend dropped off her notes. Apparently we need to know what all the different STD's look like and which one needs a host (everything but thrush needs a host apparently).

She wrote out a STD summary. I'm not sure if i got all of it down but heres what i wrote

Chlamydia: bacteria, reproductive lifestyle unique like viruses, cannot reproduce without host

Thrush: Yeast, distinctive smell, dischage

Genital herpes: Virus, Blisters and cold sores

Gonorrhoea: Bacteria, diplococci, cloudy urine

Genital Warts: Virus, known to induce cervical cancer

thank you both! :)

did he have any special excuse or did they just not care that he had failed since he had the required overall GPA?

That's a buggar! In semester one my mate missed his final 101 exam (thought it was the next day) but then went and talked to the course co-ordinator halfway through this semester. She said that if he had talked to her earlier they would have just given him a pass in the paper because his test 1 and lab marks were good enough...so you might wana get in touch with the course co-ordinator sometime? I do have a feeling that in the examination rules though you can't contact examiners before a certain amount of time...

I have.. but they said u need B+ average in the "subject", but considering its not core i didnt care too much about it and am on B-
told them i got A in 107 but they didnt care

i crammed til 5, decided to sleep for 2 hours and ended up sleeping through alarm + 2 phone calls from my mom.. never been so pro at sleeping

wasn't likely i'd make it anyways with my B in chem, but i prolly cant change to plan B like engineering now or something before i go for grad entry for med.

good luck to you guys, hope i can see some of you in grafton if i make grad entry after biomed ^_^

hahaha...
u need to pass the theory too though
so i'll need 40/40 for first test to make 40/80
and my first test was sh**

Genital warts are due to Human Papillomavirus, and more virulent subtypes are more likely to cause cervical cancers =)

And CatcherRye, I wish you all the best. Btw, your name is taken from the book right? Holden Caulfield is the man.

oh dearie me i think i may have screwed up medsci big time (n)

how did everyone else find it?
yea I felt similar. It sort of turned out to be like the biology papers where rote learning sort of made u win. Lab MCQ's were probably the hardest. The easiest section would be the digestion (same as past years). I don't think I have stuffed up too much.

On a side note, I haven't even opened physics books yet. Tonight will be an allnighter making a decent cheat sheet.
grrr... I have to sacrifice Eagle eye on TV for this.
