Oh sorry i didnt see the edit button lol

Hmmm that sounds like a guy I know, he didn't get asked why he wanted to do medicine

Thanks Nealie, I'm too scared to call ay!

Any more grads get interview emails? Any more OLY1's wanna share their interview experiences...What the interviewers were like? How you think you went? Did they throw you any curve balls? General vein of questions? :)

Hey guys, good to see a bunch more you today, hope everything went well.
Good luck to those having theirs in the rest of the week.

Nealie's info is pretty much on the money, staffing seems to be a mess, and same with the offers. Sorry, but it seems some of you will just have to wait a bit longer. I do understand that its quite agonizing but fingers crossed.

Good luck !

Obviously I can't speak for him, but I know that if you miss out you can get feedback from the university as to why and what you could improve should you choose to apply again. I know several students who went in for a face to face meeting with admissions about this. You can find out your interview score (if you are unsuccessful at entry). Another related point is that, if I remember correctly, they have changed the interview scoring/scaling now. I think this thread has more details about that.

You're exactly right.

Also, how has the interview changed? I'm not sure where to look in this 200+ page thread!

admissions has never been this messy. Offers for interviews and offers for places have always come out on time. I wonder what has happened this year? Michelle is normally exceptionally efficient

yeah, she is!! do you think there may have been a prob at another uni with transcripts & that's having a knock on effect or something? are all otago transcripts out?????

Still no interview offers for friday......

Nah, I don't think its Michelle's fault, she's still as busy and hardworking and awesome as ever.
It just seems that there is a lot of other things going on.

Hopefully things will be all straightened out soon.

I'll kick off wednesday!

No more news on offers or interview experiences? It's been interesting to read up on the interviews thus far. Sounds as though it's just luck of the draw in regards to what kind of questions your interview will focus on. Oh well, nothing like being prepared for any scenario!

Still no official offer for my friday interview....I guess I will have to call tomorrow if I still haven't heard anything for the time etc???? I have some important things to organise so that I can get there etc....this has been a very strange experience....

I'm still waiting too, apparently ROMPE interviews are Friday...but does anyway know what Monday is used for? Is there a possibility ROMPE could get pushed to Monday? It does all seem rather messy...

Thats rather weird, you think they would have sent out all the offers by now. Have any grad entries got calls? I heard from the 2nd years on Monday that their day was Thursday. My friend whos ROMPE hasnt had his call yet too. Thats weird huh?

As for my experience, I don't know what to make of it, but my interview was more of a conversation. It started off the normal way

Just my opinion Nikhilb2020 - but I think the interview turning into a conversation is fine, because I believe that what they're trying to assess is you, not your health knowledge. Yes, you should have some knowledge to show your interest in the sector, but everything you need to know you will be taught. I think the goal is to assess if you can communicate, are genuine and just have a bit of personality!

I've spoken to the admissions office and have an interview for Friday too!!!!! Ahhhhhhhhhh!!!!!! No email though yet about the time but it should come some time today (or quite possibly not till tomorrow?) Good luck for everyone with offers and interviews!!! Will let you know when I get an email :)

I think conversational interviews are the norm this year. It was rather fun, but after it I felt like I could have said more, but then again, everyone feels the same haha.

Ohhh good luck!! Hope you have a good interview

YAY!!! Good for you! So does that make you a 6.8 or an 8.5!! Good on you for calling. We may have interviews at similar times.

:) thanks heaps Nikhilb2020 and Nealie!

Nealie: Will be nice to put a face to the names on this forum if we do have interviews at similar times. I didn't ask about GPA...was too busy bawling my eyes out when I heard the news. Happy tears :)

My heart is going out to all those who are still waiting to hear...hang in there. I hope you get the good news soon too.

LOL!!!! Yeah, talk about stress relief! Ya poor thing......do you think this process is actually a pre interview test!!! When they ask us to explain our experience of a stressful situation and how we handled it, we could cite, receiving an interview offer a day before the interview after 3-4 years of hard work trying to keep up a competitive GPA!!!!! (JK).
