Hey, i think N/D bias was in our 3rd pophlth tutorial today.
That's probs content from module 2, someone confirm me??
Yup - Dennis said it may come up Test 2, NOT this test
Its something along the lines of when you get the information for your numerator from a different source then your denominator. So for example you get the number of Maori people with CHD from Stats NZ ( your denominator) but the number of deaths from the national death index

Hope you guys all did well for POPLHLTH 111 it should take about a week possibly more before results come out. Good luck for CHEM 110 and the two BIOSCIs!!!

Good luck to all you lot for poplhlth tonight!

Good luck with the plethora of tests coming up.
It's a lot to take in but keep in mind - tu ne cede malis sed contra audentior ito.

Thanks everyone!
Do you guys have tests before the break as well?

Haha, only 101 left now!!!
Darn, I was heartbroken when there was no mention of Xenopus laevis in 107... >_<

[OFFTOPIC]Heh :p (Xenopus laevis --> species of frog...origin of the germ layers! Brings back memories now, doesn't it?
Yeah, thanks, it's definitely less stressful, though I wasn't too stressed about the first 3 (should have been)... still went to lectures and all. There ended up being ~50 people in the 107 afternoon lecture in the main theatre on Monday
...Good luck for your tests? :D[/OFFTOPIC]

Welcome CapitalG to MSO!

The questions in 101 were quite different from past questions, also a bit too much on the history section of bio...

Ditto that, Nogeat and CapitalG. 101 felt harder than 107. Does anyone know when the results are coming out? =P

Aside from that, happy easter and have a good break, everyone! ^_^

I think from past experience of having done it last year maybe it's possibly because the MCQs for 101 can be potentially more tricky in terms of deciphering than 107. Moreover, I'm assuming you guys would have studied more for 107. I also found the 107 exam last year easier than the 101 when I did it. Possibly you guys will too.

Results come out either first or second week back depending on how fast they will mark it. POPLHLTH 111 and CHEM 110 should be out by now right? I can imagine there to be a lot of stressed people right now just like last year.....*

Yeah I definitely agree perhaps its because we all took 107 some what more seriously then 101, for obvious reasons. I have yet to receive any marks, actually I just logged on cecil before coming on here to see if anything was up, and there next to the tab that says Marks was the number 1 in brackets, I was about to have a mini heart attack as I clicked on it, when jokes, was just an old lab mark from 2 weeks back that I had already seen, not funny cecil not funny. Any ideas when they will come on? Are they usually up in the mornings or do they just appear randomly? and do we get an email?

Back when I did POPLHLTH 111 last year I can remember that mark coming up on the First Monday of the mid sem break haha i was depressed initially because of my "low mark" well according to my standards then redeemed myself in the 2nd test and the exam by getting the desired grade and CHEM 110 came out on the day when we did our BIOSCI 101 test so I'm really surprised? CHEM 110 usually only takes like 2 days for the people to mark usually where everyone does usually well, watch out for the 2nd test it can get pretty hard. They'll surely shock some people in the 2nd test.

How swell regarding chem test 2, well its always good to mentally prepare oneself. But yes, I had heard they are usually pretty fast, they even told us in our labs that they were busy marking as we speak. Did any of your marks actually come back across your two week holiday? Or did they others, asides chem, come back around the time POPLHLTH did?

BIOSCI 101 and 107 all came after the mid sem break. BIOSCI 101 was out I think the 2nd saturday after the mid sem break last year while the BIOSCI 107 mark was out somewhere in the first week quite early too Tuesday or Wednesday?!*

I don't want to be spreading rumours but make sure you study for CHEM 110 test 2 really hard. I know of some people who got 97% in the first test who got 75% in the second whereas I had some friends who got 96% in the first and got 97% in the second so it all depends on how strategically you study chemistry and how well you can "cope with time pressure". The time pressure will be quite a huge factor in the 2nd and I mean it for real. POPLHLTH 111 for 2nd test is more rote learning so make sure you know the slides inside out. The class average last year for the 2nd test was like 37/40.

Ohh I see, I suspect it would be much the same this year. Thanks for the heads up about it all.
Slightly off topic, but in terms of final marks do you get them before or after semester 2 begins?
