Flinders Flinders Medicine: Provisional Entry General Discussion

Hi all, new here,

Just wanted any advice please regarding my chances for flinders uni. I have raw atar of 99.6 (99.95 with ues) and low ucat of 2840 (81%). After 2nd round i was roughly 60 to 80 on waiting list. Thanks.
Based off talking to someone last year with a similar score, I think you're either borderline or unlikely to get an offer. Good luck!

Thank u!

So there is a small possibility?, as I saw someone last yr in the offers forum get an offer around 10th feb with 82% ucat, so was not sure. Thank you for clarifying.

I moved my Flinders med preference above Uni Adelaide sometime last month, logged in to SATAC today and it says "Preference shuffled after equal consideration deadline" (red highlight). Does this mean I'm no longer being considered for an offer? I thought you could reorder preferences without issues?

I believe SATAC has a final date this needs to be done by (I looked it up the other day but can’t remember it now). You may want to check as you might have missed it as it was earlier than I expected.

The deadline is 4th of Jan this year. You will need to confirm with SATAC as to what happens if you do change your preferences.

Sounds suspiciously like you've got an offer lol. Parking is okay at Flinders. Its about $250 a year and all the free spots are next to the hospital which is like a 20 min walk from the main campus and usually fills up anyway. In the mornings, spots fill up fully around 10am in the prime locations and start being available again around lunch time. In Clinsci anyway, you're not on campus much so you don't have to deal with parking too much.
Unfortunately, I have not received an offer. I am quite surprised considering 92% UCAT and 99.95 ATAR with UES would have received an offer around this time last year.

That's quite interesting. I haven't seen a nonrural offer on this forum lower than yours but if you do, I'd recommend contacting the University. Otherwise, I believe there are still offer rounds going through and you may still have a chance. Good luck

Hey guys. Im an international student who applied to Flinders Bsc clinical sciences/doctor of medicine 6 year program. I have a question regarding the interview - my interview will be virtual, so will it include the 10-20 minute scenario that I saw domestic Australian students have to do in the interview with medicine faculty?

There is no interview for domestic students for the Flinders double degree medicine program (BClinSc/MD).
This interview is only for international students in the same program.

I see. Still, does any international student here who has done a virtual interview for Flinders have any insight into how the presentation section would be conducted?

I was wondering if it was harder for interstate applicants to apply for flinders. I got a 3290 ucat but my estimated atar is quite low at 98ish but I am applying for EAS through UAC. Is it worth applying or should I skip out on this because the entire process of applying with special considerations seem like a lot of work

Iirc 5 UES adjustment points will boost 98ish to 99.95, then with 3290 you'd be certain of a Flinders offer.

It's not really harder for interstate to apply. The only difference is SATAC has a ready list of disadvantaged schools for SA/NT, but they will give the same to interstate schools if you call SATAC to check if your school is considered disadvantaged.

If instead you apply under individual EAS circumstances, it's the same application process as for SA students

heyy! i got an interview offer from flinders as an intl too. when is yours?

Feel like you just cross-posted on SACE discussion space but I could be wrong :p. Check out this thread here for last year's required scores: Aus Med and Dent Offers 2023 Entry - Collated Data

Flinders has no preference for interstates or locals. The UCAT and ATAR required to get a place offer are generally higher than is required for an Adelaide interview (Flinders has no interview for locals so you just get in)
ahaahha, i did cross post, but i dont think anyone on the sace discussion space will answer it so yeah... Thanks for your response !!!

hmmm there is literally no scores for flinders :(
