General Medicine Entry Discussion and Advice Requests

Answering the three questions above.
I don't know how much ATAR boost you get for the MG/SEAS, let's assume it's +0.50 to 99.80

99.80 + 3400 is practically a shoo-in provided you don't get "deleted" by a terrible interview.

99.80 + 3260 I'd rate around 60% chance i.e. should be yes with a decent interview.

99.95 + 3200 is around 70% chance, an okay interview may be just borderline.

Thoughts on 3170, 98.8 and a good interview?

___________
A1 replies: The 98.8 is a worry, I'd say you will need a very very good interview. Sorry

Would 99.95 + 3200 be borderline for an ERC/Bonded place as well?

___________
A1 replies: Yes, borderline is for a place offer. Being borderline means it's more likely to be ERC/BMP than CSP.
(That is with a just okay interview as you said, if your interview is good to excellent you'd be quite higher than borderline)

What do you mean by special consideration? I’m not familiar with UTAS using this for med entry. Do you have any info about it?

It’s just about my difficult circumstances I experienced in year 12. I don’t know to what extent it plays a role in the application process

Can anyone advice what is the chance for UQ (non-bond or bond) with 99.85 ATAR (99.95 after adjustment), UCAT 3160 and a good interview?

Will the above ATAR and UCAT enough for UNSW for interview offer in Jan?

Thanks for any advice!

UNSW interview offers were sent out on December 18, with interviews completed on December 23. Your ATAR and UCAT should have been sufficient to receive an interview offer?

My daughter didn’t receive interview offer from UNSW in December, she called and they replied that there might be a system glitch. Then they wouldn’t response after the long holiday break (8/1/25). Very frustrated as most of her friends who got lower ATAR and UCAT had done their interview in Dec.

That’s why we would like to find out her chance to UQ as we are from QLD.

Does anyone have any info on utas offers to non rural QLD students, or monash interview offers to non rural QLD students. I am just wondering about the chances of both with 99.45 and a 3250 ucat?

Which Unis in Australia have so far sent out medicine offers?

Did she have an interview at UQ?

You can always have a look at the offers forum yourself.

Hey everyone,

I received a Round 1 unbonded offer for UNDS (7 years of study through the guaranteed entry program) and today received a bonded offer for UNSW (6 years of study). Should I accept UNSW and how much will the bonded placement impact me?

its personal for you tbh depending on whether u think the return of service is worth it or not, personally I would go for UNSW because I wouldn't mind working rurally for a few years anyways

Hey,
does anyone know if UNSW straight up rejects applicants in this offer round and/or if there’s a wait list students are made aware of?
I received an email saying I didn’t make the cut-off for this round but “there is still a possibility of receiving an offer in UAC’s subsequent rounds”. Not sure if this is just a formality or if there’s a difference between rejection and whatever this is.

No it's more than a formality.
UNSW puts round 1 missing-outs back in the pool for round 2 offers. If it happens that round 2 cutoff is lower (which is usually the case), and your final ranking is higher, you get a round 2 offer.

If UNSW did send out rejections it'd be to those who were so far below round 1 cutoff that UNSW sees no chance meeting round 2 cutoff.
