Griffith Griffith Dentistry: Admissions General Discussion

How are Griffith dent students studying atm? is it face to face or online? border is still closed for NSW residents..and obviously to internationals. Wonder how this will play out?

If i recall correctly, Griffith has stated they keep a very small amount of places open for those with late results (e.g. NZ students, or tertiary students like yourself) in which case, you should be first on the rank list to receive an offer 😁
No places are reserved for late results but they do consider them if places open up. Hopefully Griffith didn't over offer too much so vacancies may open up. With courses like this I don't think there's a 'clearly-in' selection rank so I guess it's down to luck for me :/

:( sorry man thats tough. Hopefully you will get picked in the second round. If in the event that doesnt happen, what will you do? Work for a year and reapply next year with the same results?

Thank you for the kind words :)) Was always going to change degrees since I didn't like my current one (actuarial science: don't even know why I picked it after year 12 lol) and I didn't change mid-year as I didn't want to mess around with partial years of study. Griffith is changing up their admissions criteria for 2022 so taking a gap year won't really help with anything + I'm still very young so I'd rather continue my studies than take a break :)

I'm assuming you got in? Hopefully you enjoy the ride :)

Thanks! yea received the offer this morning. I think you can switch to a new degree (at a different university), and do the first year again and try again next year. As long as you do the course at a different university, your previous results wont have an impact on Qtac selection. you might also have to do the UCAT. I completed a degree before and never worked in the field, if dentistry is what you want to do, why not try again?

There's usually a Recognition of Prior Learning application process to go through.

Hi for credit transfer, would this affect what papers we enrol? I'm trying to enrol and make timetable but I realised I won't be taking some of the papers since I can do credit transfer from my previous studies in different uni. Do I need to do credit transfer before I enrol?

I think you enrol in everything and then withdraw when your RPL comes through (in case it doesn’t).

Mine has a lot of overlap. Can I just leave it this way tho? LOL ..Coz Im gonna do credit transfer for some papers anyways

Hi does anyone know how border crossing and quarantining for people from NSW to QLD will work? Would we have to go to QLD 14 days before orientation to quarantine?
