International Students: General Medicine Entry

I can attest that their admissions process is quite the nightmare, but I think your scores should be more than sufficient to get in, provided that both the components of your ISAT are >50%. I'm pretty sure their offers are heavily based on ATAR as well so provided that this is the case, you should get in. Wish you all the best ! Patience is key, and dont forget to lmk once you get in !
Thanks mate! Actually I have no idea at all. they informed me I am in pending quota. they just let me wait patiently. I think I will get the outcome before 15th Dec. Let's enjoy Hobart tgt if I am able to get in.

Would love that ! And dont worry, I was told that I would get my offer in the 25th of November but ended up getting it on the 4th, so I hope that this is the case with you as well

Oh my I just realized its the 8th of December rn 💀 Even better then, bc youre gna get your outcome in a bit. As for your question, I actually asked the UTAS reps about it and that was the date they told me but Im pretty sure it was a date that coincided with the end of the Round 3 offers. So basically I was told that after the end of a specific date pertaining to the offer round, there would be 2 weeks of offers being released, ans 25/27 November was I believe that date.

Did we have to tell unsw of our isat scores ourselves or is it automatic?
I think you have to provide your ISAT ID when completing the medicine application portal (MAP)

Has anyone got their med offer from UQ? I got mine today afternoon.

Also I got an offer from UTAS earlier this month, but probably leaning towards UQ right now.

Also, what do you guys normally do when universities that are not your first preference offer you first? If I reject my existing offers, I may risk not getting into the other ones. But if I accept the offers and pay the deposit, would I be allowed to change over later on? Is the deposit refundable?

Congratulations ! Didn't get an offer for UQ as I didn't apply but maybe you can try finding people who did it in the UQ specific forum. Additionally, if you're still waiting up on an offer from another university, it'd be a great strategy to accept the university that has offered you, and pay the deposit upfront, permitted that you are willing to give up on that deposit money if you eventually get the offer you want. And in the case that you dont get the offer you want, you'll still get to study medicine. The deposit is refundable to an extent but may differ from university to university.

Congratulations! Just wanting to know if your med offer from UQ was a conditional offer?

Just got rejected from unsw after interview. Honestly, I really messed up the interview as the questions were rlly random and I couldn't really answer them. Also, my isat was pre poor at 172 but my academics were UK a levels of A*A*A*.

I have friends who received offers in 5 days; I myself got an offer in 1 month and about 2.5 weeks. (That being said, apparently the officer in charge of releasing results was on leave for the whole of August…) The general consensus seems to be within two weeks.

UNSW sends rejection letters so no news is good news.
Hi, what was ur isat and how did u think u did in the interviews?

Hi. I got 184. I honestly have no idea how I did in the interviews. I think I did give some “red flag” answers, but I did not prepare for the interview and pretty much went in blind. All my answers were genuine. I used an SAT score of 1570.

I felt pretty chill after the interview because it was really like a chat. I also told an interviewer some dad jokes while waiting for the other one to join the zoom meeting.

I still don’t know how I did but I suppose it must have been well enough, because I know people with similar academic and ISAT scores who still got rejected.

May I ask you which test window u were sitting for the isat? I sat the Nov test window and got 172 for isat and I got atar 99.55 , however I haven’t heard back from the unsw medicine faculty. I did submitted an enquiry to the UNSW Future Student tab a couple of days ago and they got back to me today saying all interview invitations have gone out on the 17th Dec which prob means I’m rejected from getting an interview offer. I was thinking maybe it’s because I sat my test too late so even we got the same isat score, I wasn’t considered for an interview.

I did my isat in nov yes, but I got an interview before I got my isat scores. Moreover, My a levels convert to an atar of 99.8, so that might be why maybe due to the difference in atar?
