JMP JMP: General Entry Discussion

In the JMP Application, it asks for the "Name of Examination", with response options including "NSW Higher School Certificate", "ACT Final Year Examination", "Final Year Examination in Another State or Territory" and "International Final Year Examination". I did my international baccalaureate exam in Victoria, so which am I meant to choose (in another state or international)? Worst comes to worst, I'll probably call them on this, but am looking for second opinions!
 
Hey guys, I saw that the rural UCAT cut-off was 2450 for JMP last year. Do you guys reckon this will increase this year? Was 2450 a sort of an outlier or should we expect this sort of number this year as-well, I know this is all speculation. Additionally, people this year seem to be scoring quite high across the board for UCAT. Do you guys think this is just positive reporting bias or this years UCAT cohort is comparatively strong.

Last year was the second year of UCAT. It’s not possible to identify ‘outliers’.

The data posted on MSO is a very very very tiny sample of the overall population so it's not possible to make judgements on overall percentiles based on MSO scores [There were 15,000 test sitters last year and also the MSO data is skewed heavily]. A cut-off can drastically increase if the percentiles go up or it could decrease, if there are more applicants it could go up or it could decrease if there are less. It's not possible to predict what the cut-off will be until the university publishes the data for the interview invites they send out at the end of this year for next years places.

i made an account just to help but i had that error too so i converted the file to a tif file using an online converter and it worked! :)

Hey guys, considering 90th percentile went up this year - what can we estimate the JMP cut-off to increase to? Ik its a hard question but just wondering in general

JMP cutoff has been typically 90th %ile but jumped to 93rd last year (possibly due to diverting a portion of interview spots to a UoN cohort).

If it drops back to 90th/91st %ile this year the cutoff will be whatever the UCAT score of 90th/91st.

Sorry, might be a stupid question but so they were giving people studying at UoN preference for interviews? Have they told us if they are doing it this year?

Yeah have a read about it here > JMP - JMP: BBiomedSc Pathway

Apparently that scheme has been scrapped this year. The clause was shown near bottom page 4 this 2021-intake pdf

Scrap that, I was so blind. The pathway still exists for 2022.

Seems like they havent scrapped it this year though? Both the 2021 and 2022 intake still mention the BBiomedSc pathway

Does anyone know how the EAS works? I qualify for it but I'm not sure if it's worth applying? I already meet the GPA threshold... would there be any benefit to me applying for the EAS? Or does it only increase your gpa/atar if it's below threshold?

It doesn't influence selection beyond improving your ATAR until it reaches the threshold and if it's already met the threshold it doesn't have any impact besides this
 
Once we submit the direct app, can we go back to edit it as long as it's before 30th september?
Also, it doesn't matter how long we have studied for as a non-standard e.g. 8 months, as long as it is 1FTE?
