JMP JMP: General Entry Discussion

Once we submit the direct app, can we go back to edit it as long as it's before 30th september?
Also, it doesn't matter how long we have studied for as a non-standard e.g. 8 months, as long as it is 1FTE?
Yep, you can edit until 30th September once you've submitted it. I actually called JMP up to confirm about the length of non-standard study (e.g. I studied Feb to Dec last year and it came up as 11 months on the application), and the lady said it was perfectly fine, as long as its 1 FTE. She said this part of the application is more for data collection by the uni than for anything else, and that they'll be getting the actual details of your non-standard study from UAC.

Does JMP require predicted grades to be sent in prior to interview offers? Or will they just look at UCAT, then wait for the actual grades? I’m starting to get a bit muddled because of applying to too many places.

The latter, if you end up not making the ATAR cut after the interview they'll just cross you off the list and make you ineligible for an offer.

For JMP application there is a section asking if we're interested in bonded medical placements. Does this mean that if I make it in I'll automatically go into bonded placement regardless of my final rank, or is it just the usual case where the last 28.5% have to do bonded and im registering my interest for that.

The latter, if you don't select bonded and end up ranking in the bonded zone, you just won't get an offer at all. Only do this if you are preferencing other med unis below JMP as in, you'd rather get your second preference e.g. WSU unbonded rather than your first preference but bonded e.g. JMP bonded. At least I think that's how it works.

Does JMP offer zoom interviews? I am a bit confused because I had to declare whether I wanted to do my interview in Newcastle or Armidale, yet I am an interstate applicant and there’s no way I am keen on flying down to NSW at the moment nor am I allowed to. Seems pretty unfair!

They did last year and I am honestly 100% sure they will again this year.

Hi, I was doing my direct application for JMP and I am studying the IB in QLD. Would the name of examination be "Final Year Examination in another Australian State or Territory" or "International Final Year Examination" in the following:
[MedStudentsOnline.com.au] JMP: General Entry Discussion
Edit: Also my school name does not fit in the required field. What should I do?
Thank you

Definitely choose "Final Year Examination in another Australian State or Territory", the IB in this instance is "international" in name only, just like it isn't really a "diploma". The most important thing is where you're doing it, which is in Queensland.

Not sure about the second question sorry.

Oops, I submitted the application like 10 minutes ago and chose "International". Do you think they will be able to change it if I call them tomorrow?

Hi, I just called UoN and they said that IB would be the international final year examination option, and for the school name, they just told me to make up an abbreviation.

JMP is that UCAT and Interview focused or ATAR as well ?
For NSW/ACT/QLD applicants ATAR is checked *after* the interview to see if it meets the hurdle for place offer.
For applicants from other states ATAR may be checked before JMP gives an interview booking in January (since ATAR has been released).

Hi.
For the JMP Application Form, when it asks for the duration in the 'Tertiary Details' section, is that referring to the dates of the start of semester 1 and the end of semester 2?
I'm a bit confused with what the 'start date' and the 'end date' is.

Sorry if this has been answered before but for non-standard applicants do we upload our uni transcript under qualifications on UAC or does UNE obtain our transcript themselves to calculate our GPA.
