we upload our uni transcript under qualifications on UAC or does UNE obtain our transcript themselves to calculate our GPA.

UAC will obtain academic results directly from your uni, calculate GPA, convert to Selection rank then send to the med/dent schools.

UAC does this in December after semester2 results are out then also runs an update early January before the Jan offer round. Thus UNSW says you need to have results available to UAC by early Jan to be considered for this round.

do we have confirmation that PQA will definitely be used for entry into 2022 as i've seen conflicting statements and 'page not found' websites regarding whether it was used for 2021 entry.
"Please note – For entry 2021, due to COVID, the structure of the Multiple Skills Assessment has been modified to allow it to be delivered via zoom. Details will be provided in the letter of invitation. The Personal Qualities Assessment will not be used for selection for entry 2021."

Additionally, it states that interstate non-rural applicants receive interview invites in January (as opposed to Nov for NSW/ACT/QLD/rural), but that unsuccessful applicants would be notified late November. Does this mean it's safe to assume that if a VIC student doesn't receive an unsuccessful notification in late Nov, they'll get an interview invite in Jan?

JMP usually sends interstate invites the same time or ~2 weeks after NSW/ACT/QLD so you will know either way by late November.

Was just wondering whether the rural cutoff, 2450 last year, would be expected to increase/stay the same this year? As the lower percentiles in the interim statistics haven’t had any change from last year.

Oh, the website says there’s 750-800 interview spots. Is that a significant decrease from last year? I thought they interview around that amount usually.

The general idea of interviewing interstate applicants late January is by then some know they already have a home-state offer and can save the travel expenses for the interview. UNSW vouches not to disadvantage interstate. Don't know about JMP, if they don't set aside enough places for Feb offers then yes interstate can be disadvantaged.

Thanks for mentioning that. I just quoted the website as the specific interview numbers faq was updated recently on 6/9/2021, mentioning that 750-800 will be interviewed.

Did she also mention that the number of medicine offers they provide will remain the same (I believe it's normally around 170ish, but someone can clarify further)?

Number of offers is much less flexible than number of interviews. Offers only differ 5-10 places per year (based on deferrals etc), unless there’s something that has changed*, as they’re agreed upon with the government.

*such as WSU joining with CSU to create the JPM and the increase in places and similar such things that have occurred over the years.
