It was 900 for 2021 as a number of people got confirmation from Sue for all domestic applicants [Including Rural , JMP Pathway and General] .I personally thought the QLD cohort size increase led to the change along with UQ admissions. Though it might be a bit of a stretch to suggest that, I heard a lot more people applied to JMP from QLD once UQ removed the guarantee but that was from the people I knew.

Hey, I was just wondering about EAS in terms of the JMP. I understand that this is the first year they are considering EAS for medicine, I was just wondering if anyone had a rough idea of what impact it will have on the application? Will EAS applicants be placed in a different pool like other universities?

EAS generally doesn't get a separate pool of applicants and offers, what usually happens is that the ATARs of eligible EAS applicants get a boost to increase their competitiveness. They then compete with non-EAS applicants for the same offers with their boosted ATAR.
I assume JMP will be the same, boosting your ATAR and making you eligible if it was originally below the 94 cutoff. I'm doubtful that there'll be any further benefits beyond that.
Eas applicants are not put in a seperate pool for JMP. The only impact it has is helping students meet the ATAR threshold. Beyond that it does not impact selection based on UCAT or interviews
From my understanding EAS only provides a booster selection rank, so if you are below the hurdle this may help you meet the hurdle and secure an interview however from my knowledge the only 3 domestic "pools" if you will are General, Rural and Indigenous. Additionally, I don't think it is standard practice to have a completely seperate pool for EAS when it comes to medicine my understanding of EAS, SCATS, SES is that with the majority of universities that even accept this all it does is boost your selection rank (not UCAT/Interview scores).

Hey, it was just on their website. It says this:
"The Joint Medical Program is now included in the Educational Access Scheme. Through the Educational Access Scheme (EAS) you can get up to four additional adjustment points if you have experienced educational or other disadvantage. For more information about the EAS see here."
Likely around the same time they have been released every year.... I can't remember the exact date but early November. Check last years interview invite thread.

Had a quick look at the archives, it appears invites were released from the first Friday of November onwards last year. If the same happens this year, invites may be released from 5th November.

Just curious to know if there's any data which indicates the ratio of school leavers to non-school leavers when it comes to getting a med offer (so after interviews). I'm quite positive it would be skewed towards non-school leavers (most likely due to more interview and life experience) but was just curious to find out.
I can provide some insight to satisfy your curiousity, the cohort on central coast has probably around 10~ish school leavers out of the 32 in first year. The rest are either non standards or mature age. I would assume Callaghan have a lot more school leavers but you can use this ratio as a basis. Definitely I would say school leavers is not the major demographics here in JMP, most people I met are non school leavers.
I’m unaware if JMP publishes their demographics, I don’t believe so?

hi! i checked UAC yesterday and for my JMP application it said - "Decision pending – additional selection criteria". I wasn't sure what that meant since I had completed the additional application direct to JMP.
All my other applications on UAC said "You will be competing with other applicants for an offer." in green.
Today when I checked again, the "decision pending" notice had gone but there was no green "you will be competing...." notice? In fact, there wasn't any added notice.
Is this the same for anyone else ? should i just wait it out and assume everything's all g (since there's nothing i can do now i guess)

Mine says "Results pending - English Language Requirements" for all of my preferences.
As long as you've completed all the steps for the application it should be fine. IIRC I had a similar thing happen with my JMP and UNSW preferences and I still had interviews for both

not sure if there's more to it than this but i think because JMP started reserving interview invites for their previously enrolled Biomed students (biomed sci pathway)
To add, it was 90%ile in 2019 not 88%ile. Not that a 3%ile increase is much better, but it may go even higher this year..
