Monash Monash Medicine: General Entry Discussion

Asking for a friend:
Say, you know you got a high enough UCAT and ATAR as well believing you did well in the interview to get into at least BMP at Monash but for some reason, you didn't put it down. You don't get an offer for unbonded in first round offers. If people reject offers (like interstate people), if spots in the unbonded course get offered second round, will it go to a BMP student or a student who did better but did not put BMP in the course preferences?

Given the lowest ranked 28.5% of enrolling applicants will end up with the BMPs (once all the shifting has settled), the question you really need to be asking instead is... if your friend's results (and the interview is a huge 'what if' regardless of their own impressions) end up in the CSP part of the list, will they receive an offer (rather than whether a CSP or BMP offer is declined), or will Monash keep offering from the bottom of the list?

I'd imagine the former, and if your friend's combo rank gets them into the CSP range, they'll receive an offer, but that's just my speculation and includes a hope that the process would be fair.

Just got offered Monash Med ERC (99.40, 97% UCAT, SEAS) which I am very happy with but is there a chance my offer can get upgraded to unbonded non-ERC? ERC was my second pref above bonded.

I know of one uni in a previous year, with an unbonded decline they upgraded a BMP to that spot then gave out a BMP top-up, instead of giving the unbonded to the next unbonded in waiting. It sounds unfair but what can we do!

It was why I suggested everyone to put in BMP even if they are not keen. If they get BMP at least they have a chance to rethink, or decline if they don't get upgraded. Better than no chance.
