Monash Monash Medicine: General Entry Discussion

I also strongly recommend you read this:

The welcome guide! which details how to use the search function amongst other things...
Thank you verty much. Looks like I might have a chance. I am hoping for the best . Many thanks again.

I know very rough as the ucat is new this year (has monash said how they use it/sjt?) but how well would I have needed to have done in my interview with a 99.7 and 88%tile?
cheers
Monash website says they take 33.33 % each from all three components.

I suspect how we might have done at the interview is going to be of critical importance.

Yep sorry I meant with sjt!

Applicants who have a Weighted Average Mark (WAM) of 70 or above may be offered the opportunity to undertake an interview (MMI) and Situational Judgement Test (SJT) based on a ranking system. Applications are assessed on an applicant's undergraduate degree only and any further post-graduate degree results are not taken into consideration. Eligible applicants will be invited to attend an interview at the Churchill campus via email in mid-August and will be required to self-select their date and interview time. Applicants must be available during this time to attend.

IMPORTANT: Offers will be made only to applicants who have attended both the MMI and SJT and are based on the' ranking of their academic performance (40%) and interview / SJT (60%) after final results have been released.

Please note all applicants applying for this course are only allowed to attend the MMI and/or SJT once. Those who are re-applying for this course and have previously attended the MMI and/or SJT for this course are not required to attend the MMI and/or SJT again.

At least 70%of the available places in the Graduate Entry Medicine program are reserved for students who have completed the full three years Bachelor of Biomedical Science at Monash University.

Keep in mind this is not for school leavers, it is for existing Monash students in one of the four listed degrees who have a different process to go through than school leavers, so it doesn't apply to you and aspiringlol.

Thanks. My assumption is that there will be a computer generated list with 33.33% of each components for the vacancies for 15th Jan release. What ever the top list will get the entry ticket- fingers crossed!

Thanks LMG and Newholland.
yeah lmg is right, not for us unfortunately. I just find it interesting that monash hasn’t disclosed if/how they are using Ucat’s sjt component (or perhaps not that surprising considering all the ambiguities from other unis!!)

Historically do all Monash offers come out via email at the same time? I know they are available on VTAC post 2pm but just wondering what the typical protocol was before then.
Thanks

Looking at last year, it appears emails rolled out in the morning before being put up on VTAC. That's how december round offers worked for VTAC in december too, so I would see it working the same way. Best of luck. :)

They do not necessarily roll out at the same time. I got mine at around 11am while some of my friends got theirs early like 8am. There was actually a loophole last year where you could login to Monash's enrolement system using VTAC login and see what course you could select to enroll in before you even got the VTAC email! They likely would have fixed that for this year.
