Otago Halls of Residence

Get used to it then. I feel that way before checking every single HSFY test.

Yupp, it's a killer that you're going to get all through HSFY.

The wait for semester to begin
The wait for results
The wait for Tonys podcasts
The wait for UMAT
The wait for dinner
The wait for interviews

What sucks is that none of that is the worst. In a month or two here comes:
THE WAIT FOR OFFERS

Boss level: The waitlist.

YES I STILL COME HERE... ish... maybe. @Zion WHAT AM I NOT GOOD ENOUGH TO ASK GEE THANKS GRANDSON @frootloop COME AND GET FISH AND CHIPS WITH ME TONIGHT @Zion YOU'RE WELCOME TOO IF YOU WANT, I WAS JUST KIDDING BEFORE, YOU MAKE ME PROUD TO BE YOUR GRANDFATHER.

Anyway. Knox is awesome. Here is a video of some Scottish-ness going down; it's me addressing the Haggis at our Fall Ball in Larnarch Castle.
Knox College 2013 Address to the Haggis - YouTube

Also, I'm going to be coordinating/advice-ing health scis next year at Knox, as I'm staying third year - so if you want a hall with multiple MSOers and many many many many love and support happy grades much greatness then come to Knox College. Happy times.

That is all. Thanks.

This sounds so exciting haha. When I come down next year, please bring me around Otago, it's going to be weird, starting all over again..

How did everyone go with offers
I got into Carrington! Woohoo! haha :P I'm guessing you did also? Congrats, looks like i'll be seeing you next year :) Are there any other MSO'ers who will be joining me?
On another note, a huge ups to everyone on here who gave really good descriptions of the colleges, they helped alot, so thanks a million! :)

I'd take it. A good friend of mine in first year was at CityCol, and he loved it, and I thought it looked pretty cool when I had a look around. It's also reasonably close to St David's (the lecture theatre you practically live in in HSFY).

A hall is just a place to live. The question really is, do you want to live in a hall or not? (Declining an offer is essentially saying you'd rather go flatting).

A College will not help you get into Medicine. Your study habits, determination and ability are 95% of the factors that will get you in. City College, like all the Colleges, will also have Health Sci students to network with (around 25% at City I think, they're a little lower due to them taking Polytech students.
But, seriously, accept that offer. City is a good College, good food, modern rooms, great location (apart from being tantalizingly close tpo Fatty Lane)

Hey guys, Im an international student who just receive an offer from salmond college, how does it sounds like?

yeah i want to live in a hall but like does it have good tutorials for HSFY and is it a quiet environment where i can get alot of study done, becuase for me thats the main thing, good tutorials and a good place to study

I've lived at two halls now (UniCol and Knox), and realistically despite them having totally different reputations, they're actually more or less the same with regards to noise/study-friendliness. You can study at any hall, but really you'll probably spend a lot of time in the library anyway.
As for tutorials... Personally I'm of the opinion that since HSFY is pretty light on concepts, there's not much need to go to many tutorials. If you're the sort who likes them, though, pretty much all of the hall tutorials are run by 'PASS', so there's not much difference between the halls there.
Seriously, if you want to stay in a hall, take the CityCol offer.

So I put Carrington first but then I found that like 5 other girls from my school had put it first too and I haven't been offered a place there ):
