Oh. That's not nice :[

But I expected nothing less. Thank you.

You can still colour in circles in the answer sheet if I remember correctly. So yeah you can still guess unanswered questions even after you move onto the next section. You just cant read the stimulus and the question stem :p

This is true. I remember doing that, just attempting to guess which one could be right.

Yepp. It means that you won't have to waste your last minute of precious S1 time going cccccc, and you can do it at the end of S2 instead.

or, if you have a particularly niggling question, you can remember the answer options, think about it, and change it later.

That's only slightly reassuring. Imagine having to resort to guessing

Oh well. Seems like there's no dignity in UMAT. I'll do what I have to.

You will almost always have to resort to some guessing. In fact, you can expect to not finish some sections. The test is designed so that only a few can complete it. This does not mean, however, that you can't maximise your chances. You may even be able to complete some sections. The main thing is to be on the go, do not take the time constraints lightly, and do not dwell on a question too long, you can come back to it later if you have time- you've probably heard this time and time again, but I cannot stress this one enough. It's one of the main reasons why I will be taking the test for the third time.

Hope this helps! ^_^

*ETA*
Besides, guessing is also a really good strategy. You can make an educated one.

I was reading some posts before, how we are allowed to only do a certain section in a particular amount of time. Is that instruction given by the supervisors or somewhere? Cause i could not find it in the practice booklets (probably didnt look hard enough)

Also what about prohibited items, like sound auditing devices and mobile phones? Can we take them in and put it on the ground like any exam or must we leave them at home?

Firstly, you DO have only a specific amount of time for each section. This is actually a major component of the UMAT (ie doing questions under time stress) so prepare yourself for this component by timing yourself doing a certain number of questions for each section and do not allow yourself to go over..see the mso wiki for some more tips :)
The instructor will call over the PA system to tell everyone to turn to the next section and people will wander around the make sure you are in fact on the right section, if you are not, you can be kicked out so listen (though its pretty obvious when the PA system speaks..cause its silent otherwise)
Damn i can not remember what exactly happens to your prohibited items at the exam centre..some might help me out, but you can take them to the exam venue though I think they might take your bag like a cloak room. haha i dont actually remember (too nervous i think)

Just try not to take prohibited items with you since its an added hassle you dont need on a very stressful day. Give your phone/wallet to someone you trust before going into the venue or prearrange things so that you dont end up needing any prohibited items at all.

From what i remember, prohibited items can be left in your bags, which get put in a separate area to the exam. Things which you need to bring in, but aren't allowed on your table, include passports/id and clear water bottles, but not mobiles or wallets. Like got suggested, I recommend leaving them with whoever's going to be picking you up.
