So, do the people who were incorrectly invited get their offers retracted?
Or will UNSW interview them anyways?
My friend was invited with an ATAR much lower than the previous cutoff of 99.25 (no eas, school leaver) [3210 UCAT, 96.85 ATAR] so i assumed that they were incorrectly invited.Who says anyone was incorrectly invited? Isn’t it possible that a technical error meant all invites didn’t go out, not necessarily that incorrect invites went out. Unless there’s something that says people were incorrectly invited that I’ve missed?
I just called up and they said there aren’t any incorrect invites- so everyone who received an invite yesterday was correctly invited. They just had a technical error so not all invites went out.Who says anyone was incorrectly invited? It could be an incorrect assumption so i shouldn't have made it sorry.
SameMy email just stated I wasn't being considered this round as I was interstate
I am from interstate, and did received email that saying my application was not successful.Hey did anyone from interstate receive an outright rejection?
Did it explicitly say you were rejected? I got an email saying I would not be considered for this round as I am an interstate applicant.I am from interstate, and did received email that saying my application was not successful.

Either the technical error is a convenient cover-up, or this UNSW person was telling us fibs yesterdayI just called up and they said ... They just had a technical error so not all invites went out.
Confirmed no EAS on uacAutomatic EAS was added to some applications, even those who didn’t formally submit anything themselves. It’s possible (likely) this occurred for your friend.
UNSW is a WAM uni so the med school specifies WAM in the criteria. Otoh conversion for admissions is done by UAC who use GPA. We believe UAC use the conversion table in this post (or very close to it)Does anyone know how UNSW converts the tertiary rank into a selection rank? Also does UNSW use WAM or GPA because on their site they said you must reach a hurdle "Tertiary study component must reach WAM 70 or equivalent" so I am assuming they convert the WAM?
Hi - I'm in the same boat, and didn't place UNSW on my preferences due to that belief. If you didn't get any bonus points (EAS, etc.) I'm interested in hearing if your invitation is valid.Hi could someone please help me, I'm a little confused on how to order my preferences. Initially I only expected a WSU and JMP interview as I am a first year uni student + my atar was no where near high enough for UNSW. My preferences were therefore, WSU, JMP and then UNSW. I did not get a WSU interview (low VR, my ucat was 3070) , only a JMP and definitely did NOT expect a UNSW interview. However, somehow, today I was sent an email saying I do have an interview for UNSW and they accidentally sent me a rejection yesterday. (I genuinely don't know how my atar was around 95, gpa 6.5, ucat 3070). I still don't quite believe it, but being from sydney I would obviously rather be in Sydney than outside, so should I change my preferences to UNSW first and then JMP even though I feel a lot more confident with the JMP interview and my chances of getting in due to my low atar etc?
could you explain that a little more, about the valid part? I have a feeling that due to coronavirus they changed it up this year, and maybe for uni students, take gpa rather than atarHi - I'm in the same boat, and didn't place UNSW on my preferences due to that belief. "Once the applicant has met the minimum requirement, the "BEST OF" algorithm would apply and the qualification with a higher selection rank would be used as a final selection rank for medicine admissions purposes."- Selection For Interview | Medicine - UNSW Sydneycould you explain that a little more, about the valid part?
