Interview offers & dates 2016-17

No idea! Going back a few years through the MSO threads, IIRC, offers went out as early as late Oct in 2010/11!

That said, UTAS results are released on the 25th of Nov, so that would fit. No idea about dates for interstate Unis. Also, there'd be non-standard applicants who aren't waiting for exam results at all (like me).

Your scores would stand you in good stead.

Whoa October that's insanely early. Makes sense though, thanks for the prompt reply LMG!

If your s1<60, or section score<50 for any section, then you can assume that you got rejected. If not, then I would check to make sure that the JMP application form was completed. If you satisfy both these conditions, and still haven't received an email, then you should contact them.

Thanks shadowduke :)

Oh yeah I completely feel you. Every day is like sweet sweet torture HAHA but hey, sending you my good thoughts! :)

Maybe we will be classmates :) Though you probably have a better shot. I have higher GPA (7.0) but lower UMAT (58/66/59/92nd %ile). Oh, and I'm rural. Though so are most people in Tas so... no huge advantage there.

Maybe we will! We'll see :) Huh, I thought rural had higher priority and lower requirements? That GPA though...wow.

That may be the case re. rural requirements, but as the whole of Tassie classifies as rural, the vast majority of local applicants will be applying with this advantage, meaning its value is probably diminished somewhat at UTAS specifically. Are you local?

Ohh I didn't know the whole of Tas is rural. I'm from Sydney, currently in my second year of uni and non rural/GWS. I'm guessing you're from Tas, haha. Did you apply to other unis?

I emailed UTAS last week re. potential offer dates and got a reply that said "we will commence sending out offers in the late November/early December timeframe".

Also, re. previous scores required to get into UTAS. The minimum scores suggested by posts to MSO may have artificially inflated predictions. I have a current UTAS MBBS student friend who got in (rural student/bonded offer/non-standard route) with UMAT 67th %ile. She didn't get first round offer, but certainly wasn't last either and knows of others with lower UMATs.

In other words, who the hell knows what you need!!! It's all sorcery as far as I'm concerned!

ETA: what are your 'stats', if you don't mind me asking (UMAT/GPA/rurality etc).
Thanks for the info!!

I have a 77%tile UMAT and 6.3 GPA both of which are quite low :( and I'm non-rural. I got an interview for JMP so I'm hoping for some miracle with uTas but i know chances are very slim for me

Is your S2 score 60+? That seems to be the biggest factor for non-standards.

Are there 2nd round interview offers in UWS & UoN?

I believe both UWS & JMP have informed interstate applicants (who do 2nd round interviews), that means there is no plan for a 2nd round of intv offers. However UWS may send out a few more supplemental offers if there are untaken slots after bookings close.

You have asked MSO a dozen questions but so far all you have given is 98%ile Umat, no section scores, no predicted Atar or GPA. Without understanding the no-offers in detail it's difficult for us to work out the best answers.

Just wondering, I'm a Victorian applicant to JCU, but I have not received an interview offer yet. Does that mean that my application wasn't good enough so I am no longer eligible for JCU med?

Also, what has been the cutoff for UQ provisional entry in terms of UMAT score?
