Hi, did people receive letters of rejection from JMP? Or should I just assume that I didn't get in if I haven't heard anything yet?

Anyone heard anything from JCU? I know that it has been said that offers for interview came out last year on Nov 12th :)

Nope nothing yet! Although I'm hoping they come out soon because if we do get an interview some of us have to book flights and the website says interviews are early December!

I am a 122 (S1 + S2) for GWS with an interview offer for UWS. S3 was appalling (a little below 50). Very surprised I made cut off.
Does anyone know what the Wsu rural umat cutoff is. I can't see much about that and I expected it to be a little lower than standard cutoff. Apologies in advance for being an interfering mum.

Rural cutoffs wildly vary between years which is why most of the regulars on here have refrained from giving any ballpark estimates. Furthermore, the degree of rurality may also play some part.

What I can say is that it is definitely lower than for non-rural applicants and that usually the difference is very significant.

Just wondering, I'm a Victorian applicant to JCU, but I have not received an interview offer yet. Does that mean that my application wasn't good enough so I am no longer eligible for JCU med?

Also, what has been the cutoff for UQ provisional entry in terms of UMAT score?
don't worry mate.......I called JCU and they said that they will be sending offers mid November.

Just got offered UNSW interview...however I'm not sure what this means? Does that mean that if my ATAR is below my predicted score I won't be considered?!!!

This question is a few days old but let me answer to help clarify for others too. Using your Umat 199 to illustrate we estimate you need Atar 97.0+ to make into the interview round. If actual Atar is below predicted but still above the combined [Atar+Umat] cutoff you remain eligible.

There is also a second implication. If you make into the interview round with not much spare in [A+U] you're in the bottom third of the interview cohort, consequently you'll need a near top interview score to rise to the top third for a place. This is assuming some of the high [A+U] will interview poorly drop themselves out of the top third to make room for you.

If it turns out they largely interview well and maintain their [A+U] advantage you get locked out as written in the email: "(by 2nd interview round) we will have additional information: .... the total score that is required to gain entry (ATAR + UMAT + interview). If (your [A+U] is so low) you may not be able to gain entry even if you achieved the highest possible interview score. In such cases, we unfortunately will have to withdraw the offer of an interview, as there will be no chance of obtaining a place."

Does it mean that others who recieved interview offers with no such conditional clauses can assume they are int he top 2/3 of the interview offers?

I know some one got an offer around 20th of January last year from UNSW with 86% UMAT and 99.6 ATAR. I am not sure about this year.

Given that this is within the last published UNSW cutoffs for interview for a 99.5 ATAR, this is not exactly surprising.

Sorry, this person got the real offer from UNSW. But, I thought there will be at least 700/800 people (UNSW sent around 500 interview offers) who are qualified for interview offers with such cut-off . Am I wrong ?

I don't think so. Offers for 1st round interviews do not have this clause (wouldn't make sense to include), and I believe offers for 2nd round interviews all have this clause since the offers are "provisional". However if I'm wrong and there are 2nd-round offers without this clause then yes you can safely assume you are well above the bottom third.

Thanks. That make sense. Could you please answer two more questions for me: a) UNSW says they don't treat inter-state students differently? Does Monash do the same b) Can I assume that Monash will have similar cut-off as UNSW?

I'm not sure what your line of query is. One with 99.5 + 86%ile can unsurprisingly get a place offer with an excellent interview score, which s/he would have achieved in the 1st round interview. This should be independent of 2nd-round interview offers.
