Have you applied at Griffith? You’d get a place there with 99.85 and because you’re from NZ, you’d be guaranteed a CSP on entry to the MD.

I had but wasn’t sure if I could get a place there (as 99.75 is a minimum). Glad to hear that I might get a place there!

The actual bachelor degrees (completely seperate to the guaranteed medicine pathway) at both unis you’ve mentioned would likely have CSPs on offer that you could possibly access for the undergraduate portion (however I’m not super familiar with the process for NZ residents).
 
Hi quick question;
how are the offers made on qtac vtac and uac? (Via email, phone, etc)
fyi I am nz applicant.
Also, if I do not get an offer for my first preference does it tell me I got rejected or does it just give me an offer for my next preferences?

Email via the TAC, then you can log into the TAC’s portal and see it there, then you’ll also get follow up emails from the university. You won’t get a rejection indication, but will get an offer for your highest eligible preference.

Unless things have changed very recently, UQ is the only one you won’t be eligible for. The rest will accept applications from gap year students provided they haven’t commenced any tertiary study. You should always look into the specific universities you wish to apply to in case they’ve had any change in policy, though.

Cheers Crow, and yeah, I've confirmed with most of them that I'd still be eligible. Thanks for the thread, will look into it.

I was just wondering what would happen if I were to just not respond to an offer I received (other than obviously losing that offer/that offer lapsing)
i.e. any other consequences (such as fines etc.)?

If you simply don’t respond, it’ll lapse and that’s it (you may get some emails prompting you to respond initially). If you enroll but then decide on a different option, and just let the initial enrolment go without withdrawing, that’s when penalties (financial and academic) can kick in.

However, if the offer you’re referring to is for Med, Dent or another place-capped course (Vet Science, etc), then please decline it formally as soon as you know you don’t want it as this allows the uni to allocate it to someone else in a timely manner. This can involve a quick email to the relevant admissions team and selecting decline on the relevant TAC.
 
Hi everyone, I just wanted to quickly confirm something!
I'm in a 4yr Physiotherapy degree. I've completed my first year with a poor assssss GPA of 4.5/7. When applying for post-grad med entry, I just wanted to confirm that they only look at the last 3 year of your degree for GPA calculations?? So I take that they won't consider my 1st year poor GPA when applying everywhere?
Appreciate any and all responses :))
