Offers UTAS 2017 (Discussion)

Thanks for the reply!!
Literally anywhere that has Undergrad Med or Guaranteed Entry. These are the ones I'm still hoping to hear from; UNSW, UWS, JMP, Queensland, Griffith, James Cook, Monash, Curtin, Adelaide and Flinders.

I've already received an offer from UTas for next year but I'm hoping for something on the mainland.
Hi mate, You have to apply for migratation to come to Mainland. Make sure, YOu don't end up in refugee camps!!. Well done and good luck with your a mainland applications!

Don't have to apply for migration if I already live on the mainland ;)

this is the one for Rural applicants

Ahh thank you so much! Just joined MSO today and you've all been a great help. I'll go post it now :)

Did you get your offer today? Or did you happen to get it in late November? Thank you! And Congratulations!

I got it in late November, but I just received my ATAR today and wanted to make sure I was over the 95 threshold before posting :)
Thank you!

Congratulations! Amazing way to start the week! Are you now waiting on other offers?

Would you mind also posting this into the Offers Only thread for the sake of accurate record keeping? ;)

Edit: Also would like to add THANK YOU for how specific you've been with your info. The OCD in me appreciates it immensely.

Waiting on UWS and JMP at the moment

Would also like to add that I applied last year to UTAS with 58-58-73 (95% and 189 aggregate) and didn't get anything.

I'm also waiting on UWS and JMP.

Can I ask if you uploaded a CV in your UTAS application?

Urgh maybe I should have uploaded a CV too. I just wrote a statement on why I wanted to study med at UTAS, and it was a copy of my UNDS one except specific to UTAS. Will they even read it?

As taa416 has an offer without uploading a CV, I don't think it's a deal breaker.

I didn't upload a CV to UTAS, it didn't say that it was assessable anywhere.

As you have the chance to upload 'supporting documentation' in the UTAS application portal, some see that as an invitation to upload CVs or Cover Letters to be able to express their qualifications and level of interest better than just UMAT and GPA scores. Clearly, as you didn't supply a CV, it's not necessary.

I called up this afternoon and was told that all first round offers had been released. I'm going to wait and see if any places free up, but it's probably going to be next year.

I did apply for other universities, but am only interested in going to UTAS. I decided to turn down an offer for graduate Flinders Northern Territory Medical Program a few weeks ago. It would have been shorter and a much smaller cohort, but my heart's still set on going to Tasmania.

Srsly, wtf are they doing this year. Didn't change this year's quotas my ass. My friend got an offer last year as an interstate non-standatd with 96 percentile and 62 in s2. This year myself with 97 percentile and 77 in s2 and others with even better scores missed out.

It appears UTAS have either significantly upped the required umat for non standards for first round offers, or perhaps reduced the amount of positions for entry. Seeing much higher scores than mine turned away I think the best I can do is hope I do better come UAC offers. Shame they are shifting to standard only entry pathways next year I really wanted to move to Hobart!

Not sure if you've seen this update already, but the changes are now from 2019 entry onwards, not 2018 as it previously appeared.
