Hi everybody,
Just did my UCAT today! Here is my score:
Year20222023
VR550☠️590:cool:

QR720880
AR880790
Total28203010

I am a WA local applying to Curtin (1st preference) and UWA (2nd preference). Last year I applied to Curtin and recieved an interview, however didnt get in. This is my gap year, so I have not started any tertiary studies. I am redoing a subject at a broadway school to boost my ATAR to a 99+, and by doing this, I should also be get the broadway/StepUp to Curtin bonus, which should boost my ATAR to 99.95 and make my application go under the 'broadway'/'equity' quota. I would like to know my chances with my score this year in recieving an offer at Curtin/UWA. It would be greatly appreciated.
Good luck everyone!
Hi, well done on your plans to take a gap year. Pretty solid UCAT score. May I ask how could you re do a subject at a broadway school after finishing yr12 already? This sounds confusing. It has to be the entire yr12 studies at a broadway UWA school !!
Good luck..

any chance of Griffith?
99.10 is probably going to be too low for Griffith, you’d need at least 99.8 based on last year.

Hey guys, would a 3617 total UCAT and a 99.00 ATAR be competitive for a UQ dent offer? I am a NSW interstate student.
99.00 is lower than last year’s ATAR cutoff, which I think was actually 99.95! Not sure about the UCAT.

Hello,
I've recently completed the UCAT for 2023 and got a relatively high UCAT score ( mid to high 3300s), but I'm not as confident in my ATAR - which I'm estimating to end up being around 99.35-99.45. Is it still possible to make it for UNSW? Also if I'm in the Gateway scheme does that change anything?

I took UCAT this year, and am part of GWS and EAS in NSW - I think my projected ATAR is on track for about a 99.4/99.45

What unis do I have a shot at getting an offer for? (I want to explore interstate options as well).
I would say UQ and JMP for sure - assuming you will put as much preparation and effort into your interview as you did for your UCAT.

Do you know about rural entry scores for UQ. Thanks
Last year UQ Rural was 2690.

I should comment on this^ to avoid deflating movpin's hopes.

Too long to explain in detail but for 2021 intake UQ Dent left the selection criteria unchanged with ATAR Rank the first determinator, resulting in 99.95 cutoff before UCAT. They have since changed it to meeting the minimum Rank 99.0 then competitive on UCAT's five sections.

Minimum rank of 99.0 for dent is crazy! I'm not up-to-date with Dent admissions, but is that normal across all Dent schools in Aus?

pretty late to the party, but this is what I got:

VR: 660
DM: 800
QR: 880
AR: 820
SJT: 584
Total: 3160

I am a non-standard, post-school applicant. Got a 99.5 ATAR last year and reapplying this year for medicine. What medical/dentistry schools can I apply for as a non-standard and what are my chances at these? Thanks for taking the time to help out!!!

You can gain an interview for JMP for sure. JCU have changed from having written applications to considering academic results and letters of support only, so the academic cutoffs for interviews are not yet known but could be higher than in previous years. UQ and Griffith are off the table.
For some of the other unis it will depend what state you are applying from, as most tend to favour applicants from their own state. 99.50 is good and your UCAT is also, but it still may not be enough for an interstate applicant in some places. Hopefully someone else can add to my answer with some more unis that would be good options for you.

Def apply to all NSW unis, you will have excellent chance at all of them!! (Except WSU, if you're not GWS)

Hi Guys,

I did my UCAT this year and got 3140.

I graduated in 2022 with an ATAR of 97.85 (EAS and GWS with WSU score of 738). Which unis would I have a chance at? My main preferences are WSU, JMP and UNSW, but I am also looking at interstate options as well. Thanks

You should get JMP and WSU-GWS interviews. UNSW if EAS gives you 2 ATAR points, if only 1 ATAR point probably not enough (unless UNSW has a lower ATAR cutoff for EAS apart from the adjustment points).

If you're on a gap year Adelaide should be yes. UWA/Curtin only if they accept your EAS.

Hi guys, I am an NSW school leaver looking to apply for Curtin University in Perth as one of my options and was a bit confused about the process. How does the Casper test work for domestic students and will I be required to sit it?

Thanks in advance

Yeah I have a similar question, how will QTAC/VTAC get our uni grades? Do we need to upload the transcript or do they get it directly from the Uni?

Hi, is any one preparing for Casper test or have already attempted? If so can you share some tips or link on how to prepare and are there any sample papers to try out?

Thanks for your insight! I also wanted to ask, since I am a gap year applicant, would UTAS and Flinders also be an option with the results that I have?

Your ATAR won’t be nearly enough for interstate non-rural for UTAS, and you’d need UES to boost your ATAR to 99.95 for Flinders.
